About the People behind Symbols Jewellery

I have always been intrigued by the meaning of jewellery and what it represents.  My take on jewellery is that it speaks its own language, it can evoke feelings and emotions by engaging the senses and awakening memories by connecting you to a time, place or a specific person.  One of my most precious possessions is a pair of bera bangles passed down from my grandmother, to my mother, which she bestowed to me a few months before she passed away.  Although the bera bangles have their own specific cultural meanings, they also symbolise the bond between mother and daughter…the precious bond shared between my wonderful mother and me.

Over the years, I realised it was difficult to find symbolic jewellery in Trinidad & Tobago and through my EMBA practicum, titled “Marketing the Emotion of Symbolic Jewellery”, I realised that a niche existed to facilitate the gift of sharing the symbols of world to T&T via jewellery.  For this reason, after being a cog in the corporate wheel for over 20 years, I finally decided to take the plunge to pursue my dream of starting my own business. With my supportive husband at my side, I am truly grateful for his encouragement and enlightenment along this bring and exciting new path ahead.  I am also fortunate to be able to leverage his knowledge and experience, being an entrepreneur himself.   Together, we are the heart and voice of Symbols Jewellery.  Together, we are here to help you speak from your heart…
