Symbolic Meaning:

This piece is elegantly crafted in Rhodium Plated Sterling Silver and features the Claddagh symbol.  The Claddagh’s elegant and distinctive design features two hands clasping a heart, which is adorned by a crown.  This powerful symbol corresponds directly to three specific elements: the heart represents love, the hands represent friendship and the crown represents loyalty.  The legend of the Claddagh takes us back to Galway, Ireland circa 1700.  Richard Joyce , a native of Galway, ventured to the West Indies in search of work, leaving behind his sweetheart, whom he promised to marry upon his return.  Unfortunately, his ship was captured and he was sold to a Moorish Goldsmith as a slave. During this time, he was trained in the art and fashioned a ring as a symbol of his undying love for his sweetheart.  When William III became king, the Moors were commanded to release all British prisoners, so Richard Joyce was set free.  He found his way back to his love, presented her with this special ring and they were soon married.  The Claddagh symbol represents love, trust and friendship in its purest form. While the Claddagh ring is traditionally exchanged between sweethearts, other forms of jewellery that incorporate this symbol are quite suitable to bestow to friends, family and loved ones. Wear this beautifully crafted symbolic piece with a smile, cradled in the knowledge that you are eternally loved.©
