This elegant piece was hand-crafted by silversmiths of the Mohamed Ahnou tribe of the North Sahara from Sterling Silver.  Silver is said to bring good luck and happiness.  The symbolic patterns etched on this piece hold deep tribal significance.   The half circle represents the moon and its importance in a Tuareg’s life.  Tuaregs are nomads who travel across many borders of North African desert nations.  Since the desert is incredibly hot during the day, they usually reserve travel for the night time, utilizing the light of the moon and familiar stars as a reliable compass. Triangles and diamonds are prominently etched motifs which are considered a source of protection and good luck. They represent the life-giving power of women and nature and embody the very essence of female divinity.  They are a symbol of femininity reflecting the matriarchal aspect of Tuareg culture.  Wear this bangle as a reminder to follow the direction of your moral compass and may good fortune and protection be your companions along your journey.©
